Rapp Rolls Through Toronto

More than 1,300 players braved the cold to compete in the main event Grand Prix at MagicFest Toronto, and the debut of Ravnica Allegiance didn't disappoint. Arclight Phoenix made the headlines, putting two players into the Top 8, but it was an old foe that came back with a vengeance in the hands of Michael Rapp, who ripped through the Top 8 with Grixis Death's Shadow. He met 19-year-old Jaxon Flannagan, who was piloting the Whir of Invention Artifact Prison deck that many former Krark-Clan Ironworks are picking up.

But nothing could derail Rapp, who rode to victory behind a pair of giant Death's Shadows in the decider to become the champion of Grand Prix Toronto.
