Kim Seok Hyun is your Grand Prix Taipei champion!

On Saturday morning, 1,062 players from all over the world entered the main event to take their shot at a winner's trophy in the Standard format. In the end, it was Kim Seok Huyn (Bant Ramp) who was triumphant, defeating Atsuki Kihara (Esper Superfriends Control) in the finals and taking the biggest piece of the $35,000 prize pool.

Standard's diversity shone through as the Top 8 featured 2 Bant Ramp decks, 2 Grixis Bolas decks, and singleton copies of Boros Feather, Jund Warriors, Esper Superfriends Control, and Simic Nexus.

In the finals, Kihara took Game 1 by casting The Elderspell on his own planeswalkers to reach the ultimate of Teferi, Hero of Dominaria immediately. But in the post-sideboard games, Kim kept chaining Hydroid Krasis and emerged victorious.
