Third time's a charm for Max Mick!

Max Mick went 9-0 at three different sealed Grand Prix this year - Seattle, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. At that last one, he made his second Limited Top 8 of the year and finally secured a victory. Piloting an efficient Black-White Knights deck, he navigated past Benjamin Weitz and Paul Rietzl before coming up against Ziad Zebib and his Questing Beast in the Finals. Down a game, Mick managed to apply enough pressure to outpace the bomb four drop an hoist the trophy. While all members of this Top 8 qualify for the Series 1 Regional Players Tour (right back here in Phoenix), Max also qualifies for the Series 1 Players Tour Final in Houston.

Congratulations Max!

The Top 8 is set and it is a powerhouse. Mark Jacobson enters the Top 8 as the number 1 seed but Hall of Famer Paul Rietzl and 7 time Grand Prix Top 8 competitor Benjamin Weitz are also in the fray. Max Mick, who went 9-0 on Day One, also is in the mix, alongside Ziad Zebib, Kai Ruan, Mitchell Tamblyn, and Eric Susak. We're in the home stretch and one of these eight players will hoist the trophy!

Day Two of Grand Prix Phoenix is underway! The 104 players are currently building their draft decks. With such a small field it is anyone's tournament to win. We're just six rounds away from determining our Top 8 in this Throne of Eldraine limited Grand Prix!

Day One is in the books and what a Day One it was. Max Mick, in his third Limited Grand Prix this year, ended the day 9-0. This is his third 9-0 Day One this year.

Impressive.

Wilson Wang and Gary Wong join Max as undefeated players, going 8-0-1.

Day Two is going to be a challenge. With 105 players coming back to draft, the fight for Top 8 is going to be tooth and nail. In the mix are some talented magicians including Hall of Famers Paul Rietzl and Frank Karsten, as well as Wyatt Darby, Sam Pardee, and Jacob Wilson.

It's anyone's game tomorrow in the pursuit of the title of Grand Prix Phoenix champion!

Over 550 players are rising early - but not from the ashes - to battle in Throne of Eldraine Sealed at Grand Prix Phoenix. The field includes plenty of name people will recognize including Paul Rietzl, Frank Karsten, Wyatt Darby, and Eli Loveman just to name a few.

Who will emerge from Day One to draft on Day Two? We'll know in a few short hours!
